In this science communication workshop, scientists will utilize narrative elements (storytelling, improv, etc.) to develop cohesive, adaptive messages suited for many different communication mediums. Building upon research in science communication and public engagement with science, this workshop lays out best practices for scientists, especially in new media including online video and podcasts.
Through small group work and practice sessions, the workshop participants will explore the landscape of new media, hone their message, and practice adapting a core message to target audiences. This is an active workshop, with each participant engaging in peer to peer feedback and on camera practice.
