Projection du film « François Englert, rebelle et Nobel » pour la communauté du CERN.

Rendez-vous le 12 octobre à 16 h 30 pour la projection du film belge « François Englert, rebelle et Nobel » dans l’amphithéâtre principal du CERN. Le film aborde la vie d’Englert, le physicien théoricien belge et lauréat du prix Nobel qui, avec Robert Brout et indépendamment, Peter Higgs, a théorisé le mécanisme de Brout-Englert-Higgs en 1964.

Du café et du thé seront servis avant la projection (dès 16 h), et le film (long d'une heure, en français sous-titré en anglais) sera suivi d’une discussion à propos de d'Englert et de ses travaux avec les réalisateurs et les physiciens belges Albert de Roeck et Filip Moortgat.

Screening of "François Englert, Rebel and Nobel" for the CERN community.

Join the audience on 12 October at 4.30 p.m. for the screening of the one-hour long Belgian film “François Englert, Rebel and Nobel” in CERN’s main auditorium. The film addresses the life of Englert, the Belgian theoretical physicist and Nobel prize laureate who, along with Robert Brout and, independently, Peter Higgs, theorised the Brout-Englert-Higgs mechanism in 1964.

Coffee and tea will be served before the screening (starting at 4 p.m.), and the film (in French with English subtitles) will be followed by a discussion about Englert and his work with the filmmakers and Belgian physicists Albert de Roeck and Filip Moortgat.
